Thomas A. Edison, Inc., and later McGraw-Edison, manufactured Edison products for almost forty years after the inventor’s death in 1931. Today the National Park Service preserves the Edison laboratory including the chemistry lab, machine shop, and library where Edison conducted his research. This historic site and home are an essential part of US history. Edison's famous inventions and innovations like the light bulb, phonograph, recordings, motion pictures, etc. as well as lesser known inventions and innovations like batteries, cement, x-rays, natural rubber, household appliances, and many, many more are all exhibited and explained.The Thomas Edison National Historic Park is open Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A $15 entrance fee is required and can be purchased online.
